Video: Barcelona!

≈ English see below ≈

Now English

In June, we want to start from Mallorca, Cala Moltó to Barcelona.

Early in the morning swells drive us out of the bunks, the wind has turned over night and pushes a steep, short wave into the bay. The liferaft is almost washed out of the mount at the stern – we forgot to pull up the bathing ladder, which prevents this from happening. But everything went well, we lift the anchor with only a little trouble and get on our way.

Rounding of the northern tip of Mallorca is quite rough, the entire track brings an uncomfortable, lateral wave, and then the wind eventually slows down, so we drive half the distance under engine.

We look forward to Barcelona, even if we really enjoyed the time in the Balearics. Mallorca and Ibiza would certainly have had some more bays and anchorages for us – and we did not visit Menorca at all. Maybe it will work on our way back to the Atlantic.

We head for the city port ‚Port Vell‘, directly in the city center. Since we are expecting family visits, we want the ways to be as short as possible. We also have toward (as usual) and want to visit some agencies and co-working-spaces, so proximity is quite handy.

VAST stays almost the whole month in this beautiful city, shortly after our arrival the first visitors join us, Marens parents spend a week with us – for their convenience, they stay in a nearby hotel.

We stroll through the city and visit the nearby beach, and visit some of the tourist attractions. Highly recommendable are the culinary discoveries–Barcelona is simply fun.

In coincidence a former colleague is also here in Barcelona and visits us on board of VAST–the world is small.
